Did you know, babies born at Confluence Health Central Hospital receive beautiful, knitted hats and baby blankets! Did you also know these hats are all donated by volunteers!
Our mission is to assure that every baby born at Confluence Health Central Hospital leaves the hospital with a hand-knit hat and hand-crafted blanket, lovely made by people of our community.
Newborn hospital hats help infants conserve heat and regulate body temperature. As hospital temperatures are much lower than temperatures inside the womb, infant caps are instrumental in helping babies adjust to a sudden drop in temperature. Additionally, a newborn’s head is much larger than its body size as compared to adults; hospital hats help infants regulate temperature shortly after birth. Newborn baby hats offer light compression to make infants feel safe and secure in their new environment.
Want to make a difference in a really adorable way?
If you knit, sew, crochet, or quilt we are always looking for new donations, as little ones come into this world daily.
- Baby hats: 13.5 inches in diameter (no loom please).
- Baby blankets: 2x3 size is best.
Please feel free to drop them off at the front information desk at Central, and please also leave personal contact information with donation(s).
