CH Recruiting AmeriCorp Service Member for 2024–2025

The Organizational and Leadership Development Department at Confluence Health is actively recruiting an AmeriCorps service member for the 2024–2025 service year. If you are not familiar with AmeriCorps, it is considered a “domestic Peace Corp.” Members serve in local communities from September through July and receive a $1,130 bi-monthly living stipend and a $7,395 education award if they complete 1,700 minimum hours by the last day of service (approximately July 15, 2025).

This role would be perfect for a student in a “gap year,” or someone who is exploring a career in human resources or social justice to build up their resume and get real world experience.

The service year is an opportunity to provide national volunteer service and helps to make a difference in our local community. The member will gain hands-on experience, attend professional training (both at Confluence Health and through AmeriCorps), and make a lasting impact in the organization and communities they serve. For Confluence Health, this service member will play a vital role in helping to launch our DEI/B efforts. The member will work closely with CH Organizational Development, and the DEI/B Council.

Additional benefits of AmeriCorps service include:

  • Hands-on experience in a work-like setting
  • Opportunity to make an impact in the community
  • Opportunities for free and professional development provided by AmeriCorps
  • Resume building
  • Networking opportunities (some could potentially lead to employment)

With national volunteer service under your belt, you could have a competitive edge when applying for employment post-AmeriCorps

Ideal service members will possess a positive mindset, are eager to learn and expand their knowledge, are dedicated and passionate about community service and social justice, are open to unique learning opportunities, and are flexible problem solvers who are comfortable with ambiguity. Carli Ludlow, e-learning specialist at Confluence Health, spent three years in national volunteer service, including one as an AmeriCorps service member. She will be a part of the member's community of support when the service year begins.
