Neurology
We Specialize in the Treatment of Nervous System Disorders
A neurologist is a medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and management of nervous system disorders, including diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles.
We care deeply about bringing the best neurologic care to patients in North Central Washington. We have a longstanding history of providing rural regional neurologic care, dating back to the 1960s. We take pride in our compassionate high-quality care. The patient-doctor relationship is very important to us. Our team includes 6 outpatient Neurologists, 2 Neurology APPs (advanced practice providers), and 2 inpatient Neurohospitalists. With the support of many medical assistants, nurses and administrative staff we look forward to helping you.
We will spend time obtaining your history, as history is very important in neurologic diagnoses and care. When examining a patient, our neurologists typically look at the nerves of the head and neck, muscle strength and movement, balance and reflexes, and cognitive abilities such as sensation, memory, speech, and language. If you are coming to see us for memory problems, episodes of loss of consciousness, or seizures please make sure you bring someone with you to help provide history that you may not remember or be aware of.
The neurologists also utilize a variety of diagnostic tests, including EEG (Electroencephalography), EMG/NCV (Electromyography/Nerve Conduction Velocity), VER (Visual Evoked Response), VNS testing/calibration (Vagus Nerve Stimulator) and DBS testing/calibration (Deep Brain Stimulator).
Conditions treated include:

Treatments
Our neurologists are involved in the initial workup and diagnosis of most neurological conditions and take the lead in treating Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, migraine and Alzheimer’s. The neurologists also serve as consultants to primary care physicians and may collaborate with Neurosurgeons and Physiatrists when standard treatments are not sufficient to control a particular disease.
Additionally, our neurologists have expertise in using Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox) to treat a variety of conditions including chronic migraine, muscle spasticity, torticollis, blepharospasm, and sialorrhea (drooling).
