Support for New Parents

At Confluence Health, our support begins when you are thinking about becoming pregnant and continues all the way through your baby’s toddler years. Our classes are taught by certified childbirth and lactation educators, who give you the tools to prepare for your labor and delivery, breastfeeding and caring for your newborn. You can also join the Wenatchee Mother-Baby Support group, sponsored by Confluence Health. Look for us on Facebook! Search “Wenatchee Mother Baby Support Group” and ask to join.

Breast Feeding Support

We encourage and promote breastfeeding and have lactation consultants available to assist with your breastfeeding needs. Lactation services are available during your hospital stay and for outpatient consultations by calling and making an appointment. Lactation consultants are available seven days a week and can be reached directly at (509) 433-3331. As supported by research for babies learning to breastfeed, the hospital does not provided pacifiers on the Mother/Baby Unit. Breast Milk Donation Milk Drop

The lactation office at the Central Campus of Confluence Health Hospital serves as a donor breastmilk drop-off location for Northwest Mother’s Milk Bank. For more information about that organization, click here.

Car Seat Safety Information

Remember to use a car seat for transporting your child home. Your car seat base may remain in the car when you bring in the car seat into the hospital. Parents can get help with using an infant car seat by contacting the Douglas County Fire District #2. To make an appointment with a child passenger safety technician who can help you prepare for baby’s first ride home, please call (509) 884-6671.
